Virtually everyone uses nowadays Windows. But the first thing that DOS afficionados do there is to open a DOS box, and use their favorite DOS programs together with their Windows software. Once acquainted with a good DOS editor, it will out perform any Windows editor.

Having had virtually no development in more than 2 years, Pedit has been upgraded once again. Its biggest drawbacks were the limited amount of memory available to the program, and not being able to use long filenames and copy/paste to other programs under WinNT, Win2000 & WinXP.

Since these platforms represent an ever higher percentage of the users, the usefulness of the DOS Pedit program declined. So it was time to bring once again this editor to a higher level.

The shortcomings have now been solved by converting Pedit into a real 32 bits Windows program. While maintaining its DOS look and feel, Pedit is actually a Windows program, simulating to be a DOS program. The result is quite revolutionary, especially for people that grew up with DOS.
